Coffee Bean Branding & Packaging

I've always loved collecting things. I like to think of my design process similar to archaeology, gathering inspiration from the real world and referring back to the root experience/story.

This started as a general coffee packaging and branding project for a luxury dark roast company. Mid-project, I took a trip to Nicaragua with a friend to visit her grandmother's restaurant, and the work shifted. I couldn't stop noticing how colorful León was- the patterns on the sidewalks, the details in the architecture, all of it unique to the city. I also learned that Nicaraguan coffee is grown and harvested in the high-altitude volcanic regions surrounding the country's 20+ volcanoes. The trip and the project started feeding each other, and I wanted to create a brand that spoke to that.
